The connected workflow

One Control Center.
Two directions.

Context moves down to direct subitems. Results move back up to the parent. Each rule is visible, previewable, and designed around the board structure teams already use.

Parent → direct subitems

Subitems that stay in step.

Keep parent context flowing down to direct subitems whenever a parent changes, or copy values automatically when a new subitem is created.

Map same-type fields, choose whether to fill empty values or overwrite them, preview the impact, and review recent runs from the Subitem Control Center.

Parent-to-subitem automation · preview before backfill · run health and history
A parent Owner and Status value updates the matching fields on three direct subitems.

Direct subitems → parent

Parents that update themselves.

Configure a source column, aggregation function, and parent target once. Webhooks then keep the parent in sync as subitem values change.

Roll up Numbers, Status, Date, Timeline, Rating, Checkbox, Hour, Time Tracking, People, and Dropdown columns. Use 25 functions for live totals, progress, dates, assignees, and reporting.

10 supported rollup column types · 25 functions · unlimited syncs within active-board limits
Three subitem hour values are added together and update the Total hours field on their parent item.

Bulk management

When the job repeats,
do it once.

Create across every selected parent, reuse a proven structure, or apply one set of changes to the whole selection.

Fifty subitems. One click.

Select multiple parent items and add up to 50 subitems to each in one operation, with clear totals before the job runs and progress while it completes.

Inherit values across 18 column types, including Status, Person, Date, Timeline, Numbers, Tags, and Rating.

Up to 50 subitems per selected parent · 18 inheritance types
A set of new subitems is created beneath several selected parent items in one action.

A bulk operation is one subitem you create, clone, or edit yourself. Sync and Rollup rules run free on your active boards and never use your monthly allowance. A board takes one automation slot as soon as it holds any rule, and Sync and Rollup have separate per-board rule allowances.

What counts as a bulk operation?

One bulk operation is one subitem you create, clone, or edit yourself, plus each subitem updated by a backfill you confirm. Value inheritance is included in the create or clone. Sync and Rollup rules running in the background never consume your monthly allowance — automation is covered by your board and rule limits instead.

What are Sync Rules?

Sync Rules copy selected parent values down to direct subitems when a parent changes or when a subitem is created. You can map compatible fields, choose fill-empty or overwrite behavior, preview the impact, and review recent runs.

Which columns can Rollups use?

Rollups support Numbers, Status, Date, Timeline, Rating, Checkbox, Hour, Time Tracking, People, and Dropdown source columns across 25 focused functions.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

The trial includes Pro-level access with 5,000 bulk operations and 25 automation boards. If you do not choose a paid plan, the app moves to the Free plan. Rules you already built keep running — you simply cannot add boards or rules beyond the Free allowance.

What does the app store?

To run background automation, the app stores per-account authorization, account and board identifiers, rules, and webhook metadata in monday.com SecureStorage. Board values are read and updated through the monday.com API only when an action or configured rule requires it.
